Reviewer Training Track
Applications are open until October 31, 2023, and mentors and mentees will be notified and matched before the end of December 2023.
ASBMR is proud to announce a Reviewer Training Track that will serve as a mentoring and training program for new scholarly reviewers. The program will run annually from January to December, starting January 2024, and combines one-on-one mentorship with an experienced reviewer as well as a concurrent education program.
Summary of the Program Details for Trainees:Duration: The training track will run annually from January to December, starting January 2024, with a 12-month program combining one-on-one mentorship with an Editorial Board member or experienced reviewer (virtually as needed), case studies in challenging reviews, feedback from the Editors-in-Chief and journal Editors, and reviewer development webinars.
Availability: The Journal Reviewer Training Track requires a commitment of time and effort. We anticipate that members of the training track should be available to review approximately four (4) JBMR®/JBMR® Plus papers in the first year, spending approximately 8-10 hours per paper. Participants should also anticipate mentoring sessions for each paper with an Editorial Board member or experienced reviewer.
Eligibility: The training track is open to all ASBMR members who have completed at least 2 years of Master's, PhD, MD, or another terminal degree/equivalent education, and who have a keen interest in scholarly publishing and a desire to contribute as a reviewer. No previous peer review experience is required and individuals at all career levels are encouraged to apply for the training. Learn More
